Patriots QB Tom Brady Injured in Car Accident, Van Runs Red Light

Posted on Sep 09, 2010
Patriots QB Tom Brady was hit by a minivan that ran a red light this morning in Boston.  Brady was driving to work when he entered an intersection near his home.  A van ran a red light causing a t-bone car accident with Brady's vehicle.  A passenger in the rear of the van had to be cut out with the "jaws of life."

Brady was shaken and pretty banged up, but reported to work for football practice.  Team medical personnel were checking him out before he started practice.  This is not what I'd recommend for any victim of a Washington red light car accident.

If you're in a car accident and feel banged up and shaken, then you should proceed directly to your doctor's office to get check out.  Delay in seeking medical care can result in worse injuries.  In a head-on collision you could have internal injuries that may not be readily apparent from the outside.  Do yourself and your family a favor and exercise caution by seeking medical care asap if injured in a car accident.

Another draw back to not seeking medical care immediately following an injury causing car accident is the arguments the insurance company will make against you.  Insurance companies look for any and everything little thing that they can blame for your injuries other than their driver.  They will argue you may have been injured by something else in the time between the accident and when you went sought medical care.  They may argue that you must not have been injured very badly if you waited to see a doctor instead of going immediately.  Don't give the insurance company any ammo to use against you, if you injured in a car accident proceed directly to the ER or your doctor's office.
