A car driven by a 51 year-old man was traveling east on Highway 522 when it suddenly left the road, jumped a curb, drove over a sidewalk, and hit a pole.  A 13 year-old Bothell boy was riding a scooter with two friends on the sidewalk where the car jumped the curb.  Two of the boys were able to jump clear of the car, but the car hit a 13 year-old Bothell teenager in what must have been a horrific Washington pedestrian v. car accident.

The teenager was injured in the pedestrian accident and was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.  The car driver was also injured and taken to Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, Washington.  The cause of this Bothell pedestrian v. car accident is not yet known.  Highway 522 was closed for 2 1/2 hours to investigate the accident.
