Olympia, WA Bicycle Rider May Face Bias Problem Following Serious Injury Accident.

Olympia bicycle rider seriously injured in a car v. bicycle accident last Saturday. The rider was hit by a car and left unconscious at the scene of this Washington bike accident. The rider was not carrying any ID. The bicyclist's injuries were severe enough for him to be taken via life flight to Harborview Trauma Center in Seattle, WA.

According to news reports the accident is still under investigation and police are looking for witnesses. Guess what that means? The car is likely blaming the bicycle rider for causing the accident. The rider no doubt will point the finger at the car.

Bad news for the injured Olympia bike rider! There is a fairly common bias against bicyclists that I see over and over again when I review my clients' police reports from Washington bicycle v. car accidents. Officers seem quick to blame the bicycle rider and unwilling to do a thorough investigation of the accident.

Now this isn't true in every case, but it's a common trend I've see carry over throughout the years. What does this mean for Washington's injured bicycle riders? Get good legal help ASAP after a serious Washington bicycle accident involving a motor vehicle.

An experienced Washington bicycle accident lawyer can make sure a complete and thorough accident investigation is completed as soon after the bike wreck as possible. Witnesses can be tracked down and insurance companies can be handled while the injured rider is recuperating from his or her injuries. As most Washington bike riders know, there is a real bias out there against them, level the playing field by getting a great lawyer on your side is essential.
