$50,000 Policy Limit Settlement in Turning Car v. Motorcycle Accident

U.S. Veteran of Iraq war was riding his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on his way to school.  He was going to college on the G.I. Bill.  Car coming the opposite direction failed to see our client's motorcycle and proceeded to turn left in front of him.  Our client had no time to swerve or stop and hit the car head-on.  He flew over the handlebars and hood of the car and landed on the pavement on the other side of the car.

Our motorcyclist client suffered two broken feet, a bruised hip, bruised shoulder, and muscle strains to his neck and low back.  Luckily, the fractures where not severe and did not require surgical repair.  He was lucky to escape the accident without much more serious and severe injuries.

Our client was told to stay off his feet for many weeks, and then was in a walking boot soft cast for many more weeks after that.  As a result, he was forced to repeat a quarter's worth of classes at his school.  Our client's medical bills totalled a little over $13,000.00.

The car that caused the motorcycle accident only had $25,000 in insurance available to pay for our client's medical bills and compensate him for all the stress and pain he was force to endure.  Luckily, our client had $25,000 underinsuraed motorist (UIM) on his motorcycle insurance policy, which stepped in to fully compensate him.  We were able to get both insurance companies to pay the full limits of both insurance policies for a total settlement of $50,000.00.
