There are many other legal grounds to hold Toyota accountable for their total failure to fix the accelerator defect they knew about for years. Other lawsuits have been started to address the Toyota vehicle defects.
Some of the legal claim asserted so far include:
1. Wrongful Death
2. Defective Product claim
3. Product Liability Law violations
4. Negligence claims
6. Breach of Warranty
Several cases have been filed in various federal courts and we can expect them to seek class action status. However, the family's who suffered the death of a loved one due to a defective Toyota car should assert their own individual case in their local court system.
I can't wait to see all of the fall out from a corporation choosing profits over people. When a company chooses to not recall vehicles, it's almost always a money decision. What do you think a jury is going to think about that when it results in the death of 34 people and counting?
